Job Title: Part Time Office Generalist and Accountant
Job Location: Minneapolis MN
GoIWx, a leader in the IT Hosting Industry, is seeking a Part Time Office Generalist and Accountant for a permanent position.
Under the general direction of the CEO of GoIWx, the primary responsibilities of the Part Time Office Generalist and Accountant position are to provide administrative support to the GoIWx organization’s systems (business, CRM, etc.) as well as to compile and maintain accounts payable and receivable and general ledger records; also to prepare monthly financial statements.
Essentials Duties and Responsiblities include the following: (Other duties may also be assigned)
Understand the strategy, vision and expansion model of the organization including a comprehensive understanding of GoIWx’s business; be aware of and help to enforce organizational policies and best practices procedures.
Consistently support the general direction, initiatives and specific final decisions of the management team in all aspects of the business; use influence sensitively to garner cooperation of management and co-workers.
Generate goodwill for the organization and its management among staff, clients, suppliers, referral sources, regulatory bodies, the general community and others pertinent to the business; demonstrate a strong commitment to client service and service excellence.
Work daily and effectively to balance stress of multiple projects, conflicting priorities, substantial workload, environmental ambiguity and changing plans through self-management and productive communication with the management team regarding needs for support.
Demonstrate effective communication skills during interaction with clients to support client's perception of value derived from GoIWx's services.
Prepare correspondence, forms, reports and databases using available computer hardware and software and other office machines; maintain organized files and treat information acquired in the course of work confidentially and responsibly.
Compile and maintain accounts payable and receivable and general ledger records; billing and CRM; compile reports and tables to show statistics related to cash receipts, expenditures, profit and loss; also prepare monthly financial statements.
Verify all vouchers for payment; debit or credit accounts (credit cards, wire transfers, etc.) as appropriate; process negotiable instruments such as checks and vouchers; comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations.
Maintain, update, prepare and file reports in an accurate and timely manner; maintain bank registers making sure all payroll and accounts payable checks are recorded.
Develop an in depth understanding of the VISUAL accounting software, VISUAL CRM, SHAREPOINT and CHANGE GEAR transaction data flows and set up; help company move to an integrated platform.
For position as well as other roles within the company, develop and maintain a procedures manual as well as a year-at-a-glance listing of all responsibilities to ensure time-specific functions are prepared for and met in the normal course of business, and not “crisis” mode.
Perform other functions as deemed appropriate by the management team.

Internal Contacts: Frequent direct, telephone and electronic contact with all company employees.
External Contacts: Frequent direct, telephone and electronic contact with clients, developers, vendors, professional services and others as required in the course of business.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
FLSA Definition: Non-exempt
Working Conditions: Normal office conditions; infrequent local travel to client sites and/or training seminars.
Hours of Work: Normally, 20-25 hours per week with extra time as needed to support the mission, activities and expansion of the organization. Any overtime must have management pre-approval.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE SPECIFICATIONS:
Two-year business degree from an Accredited Institution and two years' experience in an I.T. or hosting company office setting.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files, CRM, billing and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
Demonstrated skill and proficiency with Windows-based computer applications (specifically Word and Excel) and other industry-related software and office equipment. Great Plains software experience is a plus.
Strong working knowledge of general accounting and business practices and office administration.
Excellent planning skills, conceptual thinking skills and the ability to identify and analyze issues and problems and to use independent judgment to make decisions, and to recommend and/or implement solutions.
Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment and meet pre-determined deadlines.
Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically orally and in writing in the American English language; also to maintain excellent interpersonal and cooperative relationships with management, staff and clients.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and accurately follow through on work activities to meet deadlines as well as to work independently with a minimum amount of direction and/or supervision.
Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm, maintain a sense of humor and to regularly present a well-groomed, professional image.
Ability to exhibit desirable and appropriate behavior including integrity, ability to get along with others, team playing industriousness, supportive communication, sense of urgency and confidentiality and independent judgment to provide for a cohesive working environment dedicated to achieving the organization’s goals.
